RTB106 - ConGRADulations!

T.G.I.F.!

That's how my week has been, lol.

I hope that you've all had a great week. I'm here to say HAPPY WEEKEND and showcase the Raise the Bar Challenge. This week, we are focusing on all those grads (whether in kindergarten through to post secondary)!

I wanted to give my creation a non-traditional but feminine feel to it, so this is what I came up with:

A little close up of the diploma:

Hope to see you playing along with us! If you upload to any online galleries, please label RTB106 for your keywords.

TGF: Prince Charming w/ Mojo Sketch

Hiya! How's your week going?

I was totally engrossed with the first season of Once Upon a Time (did you know it was filmed locally close to where I live??!), so I kind of made this card as a tribute to the show because Prince Ian reminds me of Prince Charming.

I even practiced my no colouring, lol! I know it can be a challenge not colouring the TGF cuties, but every once in awhile, you just have to try it. ;) I kept the embellishments to a minimal, keeping with a more masculine theme.

For my layout, I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch:

Thanks for poppin' in to say hello! Have a wonderful Thursday! xo

A Cheeky TGF Mother's Day

Hi there! Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there. I hope that you have a wonderful day enjoying all the things you love.

Just thought I'd pop in on this Sunday and share my Retro Fresh Challenge card for May. As Jess had previously posted, it's all about the mothers this month! You can make a card for your Mom, aunt, grandmother, step- parent, anyone who has been a mother figure in your life.  With Mother's Day (my favorite day!) coming up this Sunday, we are honoring Mom and those "mom-types" for the month of May.

For my card, I used Cheeky Glamour. Sometimes it's funny to think of our moms as sassy and sexy things, but let me tell you, my mom was a beauty! lol So I thought I'd make this card in honour of her, although I already sent her another card, I can now use this as an everyday card. :)

For more information on the Retro Fresh Challenge, hop on over to the TGF Blog here.

The sketch I used for inspiration was Jen's Deconstructed Sketch this week as seen below:

Thanks for stopping by today! XO

Supplies:
Stamps - Cheeky Glamour (TGF), alphabet (Studio G)
Paper - Stampin' Up!
Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento), Riding Hood Red (Stampin' Up!), Black (Versacolor)
Accessories -  Copic markers, circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), ribbon (Stampin' Up!), border edge punch (Martha Stewart), button (Basic Grey), twine (unknown), pearls (Kaiser)

RTB104 - Mother's Day

Hello there!

I really, really have no idea what happened to this week. LOL I blinked and here is Friday! I hope that you've had a great week so far; as you can gather from this post, I've been a wee bit busy again. I have been having some down time to myself though as my work has been quite busy with some deadlines and a flurry of activities.

But fear not, dear reader! ;) I'm here with you today with my Raise the Bar inspiration. This week is all about our mothers. Since my mom lives in another city, I mailed her off a card already. This is one I made for the challenge and will likely use next year.

To be honest, I didn't want to create something that would take me a lot of time to colour, so I reached for this die cut image from Kanban that I thought would be classy for a mom of any age.

Hope to see you playing along with us! If you upload to any online galleries, please label RTB104 for your keywords.

TGF: Tutorial Tuesday - Colouring Black Hair with Copic Markers

Greetings, friends!

I have a fun colouring tutorial for you today that is featured at The Greeting Farm Blog. I hope that you are all enjoying the latest releases! I can't tell you how much I love lil' Cheeky Geeky and I see SO many possibilities with Princess Anya No. 4 and Prince Ian. :D

You are always so kind to tell me that you love my colouring (a BIG thank you!) and I also was recently asked how I colour hair on TGF images so I thought why not give you a quick tutorial. There is no "right or wrong" way to colour, but I want to show the way I colour hair.

I wanted to do something more video based, but I'm not a fan of hearing myself talk, so I put together a series of photos and combined them into this video here:

**I specifically used black hair as I've heard that can be an intimidating colour, but it really isn't! It just takes practice. I use the same method to colour all different hair colours.

My finished card:

If you have any questions, please comment here and I will add responses to this post as they come up and/or send you an email reponse.

I also played along with this week's Mojo Monday sketch seen below:

RTB103 - Text It!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Sooooo happy it's Friday! I hope that you've all had a great week. For all you Greeting Farm fans out there, don't you just ADORE the newest releases?! Hehehe, I sure do and I have one of those new lovelies from that release to show you today with the Raise the Bar Challenge.

This week's challenge is all about report cards; use text or letters as a main part of your project. I really, really wanted to use Cheeky Geeky for this challenge and wanted to incorporate a bit of Parisian school flair in there so this was the result:

I was inspired by this week's Deconstructed Sketch:

LMMS April Guest Goodbye

Hello readers!

I hope that you've all been having a good week so far. I didn't get a chance to post my last April Guest Designer card last week for Little Miss Muffet Stamps so here it is today!

I wanted to take the time to quickly thank Barbara and the rest of the Design Team for having me join them this month. What a fun month it's been working with the cuties from LMMS.

The current challenge over at LMMS is flowers, and while my card mainly focuses on stars, I can squeeze this in because my pattern paper has flowers on it *nods head* ;)

For more inspiration, go check out what the rest of the Design Team has made here.

Have a great Thursday!

Spring Fair

Happy Wednesday!

Just popping in to show you some photos of the table I had at the Vancouver Japanese Language School Spring Fair.

Purse notes, altered magnetic clothespins and cards

I had already started to pack up in the above photo, but I was proud of my bright banner! lol

As this was my first show, I didn't know what to expect and was indeed a complete rookie! lol I have so many ideas for the future now though and hope to expand on these ideas next time.

Have a great day!

RTB102 - Lei Day

Hi there! I can't believe how quick April zoomed by and that we're now welcoming May.

I am still fighting with getting my lap top back and have so many other "life" things going on right now, but don't you worry. I'm taking things as they come and getting things done, albeit slower than usual as you have experienced.

Speaking of slower than usual, I wanted to share my card I made for the current Raise the Bar Challenge! Today is Lei Day in Hawaii and Joni challenged us to make a tropical/Island project.

I hadn't yet used any of my new Sparkle Creations stamps so I knew when I saw Hula Girl Lucy, I had to ink her up and colour her in.

I'm also playing along with the SCRS Sketch Challenge:

Hope to see you playing along with us! If you upload to any online galleries, please label RTB102 for your keywords.
