Catch of the Day and an IMO

Hello friends!

Thanks for stopping in to check up on me today. I'm posting a little belated, but just for the record, I made two of these cards - one was for a birthday and the other was for Father's Day. So let's just pretend that the card below says "Happy Birthday" instead ;) lol

Before I move on, I feel like I have to address the havoc after the Canucks' hockey game last Wednesday. I was truly ashamed that the world got to see our beautiful city in such a disaster. I want to express how sorry I am that you got to witness that over all the social medias. The riot was caused by a small group of people and the rest of them followed a "mob mentality," it by no means represents the rest of the population who live here. There were many volunteers who worked hard to restore Vancouver back to the way we all know it the very next day and I cannot thank them enough. Okay my 2 cents is over! :D

My dad is a true fisherman, he is out on the lakes almost every weekend and so this card really was custom for him. Unfortunately with the nationwide Post Office strikes, this card is currently locked down in a Post facility somewhere and he hasn't received it. He got an e-card instead. lol

I hope you had a relaxing Father's day with your friends and families. Until next time...

Summer Cherries Tilda

Hello bloggers! Hope your week is going well so far.

Well... I'm feeling a little down as I write this as the Vancouver Canucks lost to the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Finals. Ahhh well, there's always next year!

Summer is slowly peeking out here and teasing us every once in awhile and it inspired me to pull out some fun Magnolia images to colour and make into a card.

This card makes me think of the summer cherries that I always had growing up in the Okanagan. Yummy!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I need that extra little cheer. :)

Supplies:
Stamps - Tilda (Magnolia), sentiment (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink - Memento (Tsukineko), Creamy Brown (Clearsnap)
Paper - Old Olive, Real Red, Sky Blue (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories - Copic markers, lace punch (Martha Stewart), ribbon & Modern Label punch (Stampin' Up!), pearls (Kaisercraft), circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), brad (Creative Memories)

Welcome, Baby!

Happy Friday, dear friends!

I hope that you've had a wonderful week. I have been creating up a storm with swaps and summer birthdays that are soon coming. Are your summers quite busy with birthdays and other events?

I had to come up with a quick baby boy card and thank goodness I remembered that I had these Sandylion stickers brand new in their package. I rarely use stickers, but was I glad I had these hanging around!

I think I whipped this card up in a total of 45 minutes. Phew! I even had a couple leftover stickers to put on the front of the envelope.

I'm hoping that many of you are finally seeing the sun and feeling warming days. :) Have a great weekend!

Supplies:
Stamps - Bundle of Joy (Stampin' Up!)
Paper & Ink - Stampin' Up!
Accessories - stickers (Sandylion), brads (Making Memories), oval dies (Spellbinders), stars embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts)

Bellingham, WA - 6.4.11

Hello, hello. As promised in yesterday's post, I'm sharing some photos of our quick day trip down to Bellingham. I'm decked out in a Canuck's t-shirt and received quite a few comments on it while down south. lol

The highlights of the trip were finding the Antique District around the corner from the Post Office, visiting the Antique Mall, eating frozen yogurt at 11am in the morning, taking photobooth photos and seeing a large hamburger cake. :D

Thanks to The Beau for making the day fun and being understanding that this crazy gal had to go down south to send snail mail out. lol

Hope the photos brought a smile to your face. Thanks for stopping by today!

Destash the Past Weekend

Good morning, friends.

Sorry I haven't blogged in a few days, it was a busy week as I was trying to tidy up a few last minute things that came my way.

The ladies I have playing in first De-stash the Past Challenge are:
From what I knew of the Canada Post strike, I wasn't able to ensure that the packages would be sent without delay so I went down south of the border into Bellingham, WA to mail them off. :D It seemed a little bit extreme, especially finding out that the strike is currently on rotation and will not affect the Vancouver area (yet). But hey, the Beau and I had a special date day and I'll show you some fun photos tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by today, see you again tomorrow!

Destash the Past Announcement & Sign Up

Happy Hump Day, wonderful blog readers! :D

I am feeling extra good about this day because I've been waiting to tell you about my fun announcement and am finally able to. What is this Destash the Past badge all about you ask? It's really simple and here is the background story:

I found some time over the past weekend to clean up and go through my stash of paper crafting items. As I was organizing, I had this brilliant idea come to mind! Literally there was a "ding!" noise. How about I destash by sharing some loot with you through a challenge? Huh?? LOL I want to send you free stuff so that you can create and showcase some ideas with the blogging world and myself.

In summary, this will give A. me a chance to interact more with you B. share my stash with you and C. you get free loot to make a card (or project) and get showcased on my blog.

I want to try this every month and I hope that you are as excited as I am! As the craft stash varies every month, the number of people participating will also vary as well.

The above photo is your June package. Not all packages are as shown; they vary but you will be getting about the same amount of product to work with. This package comes from Stampin' Up!'s Ice Cream Parlour line.

For the month of June, I will take the first 4 people who comment letting me know you want to play along. (International players welcome). Please also comment with your email address and I will email you requesting your mailing address and work out the fine print with you. Be fair and only sign up if you are able to comply with making a project, posting it in a gallery or your blog and allowing me to post your creation here at Yummy Creations. Thanks!!

I look forward to hearing from you :P
