RTB59 - Boarding Pass and SCRS Helps Japan!

Konnichiha friends!! (Hello in Japanese)

No, we all know that I'm not Japanese descent, but this week at Raise the Bar - we are calling for Worldly inspiration: create a project based on a country.

One of my new design team members, Jan, posted a Japanese inspired card and it got me thinking that I should show my support as well.

Think that Rin is just the most adorable Japanese image?! You can get her too for only $5 for the rest of the month. To help with the disaster relief, Sparkle is putting all the Rins on sale for $5 and she will also donate $5 for each Rin sold! (Click on the image below to take you right to the website)

Did you recognize the sketch for the layout of the card? I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #183 as seen below:

I'd like to take the time to welcome two new members to our Raise the Bar Team, Jan and Wanda - please take the time to give them some love. :D

Hope to seeing you play along with us! If you upload to any online galleries, please label RTB59 for your keywords.

Yummy Food Creations

Happy (merh) Monday! LOL

I think I'm going to start featuring more yummy food creations on my blog. I know that some people just eat for the sake of eating, but there are so many creative things you can do with your food. From the textures, colours and combinations; so many ways of how food can be presented and it's so important that restaurants make the food look appetizing. I am no food critic by all means but I can definitely appreciate the art of food and feature it on my blog!

These rolls are from Japolo Sushi/Pho - one of our local sushi places that the Beau and I go to. (Juli P, you need to come visit me and we can go here!)

Yummy, yummy caterpillar roll... he's sticking his tongue out at you? lol

A petite white bunny!

Have a great day and we'll see you later this week :D

RTB56 - I'm Just Sayin...

Woot woot!!! It's Friday, I'm sure each and everyone of you know that already though!!! LOL

I've been looking forward to this particular Friday because I am going to go see

with one of my girlfriends tonight. :) This was a post-dated birthday present from 2010.

Getting on to the Raise the Bar Challenge of the week; the theme this week is "I'm Just Sayin." That's right, we want to see all of your sentiments as the main focus of your projects.

With Sympathy - It's Always Hard to Make These

Hello friends!

I always have a heavy heart each and every time I need to make a sympathy card, but unfortunately, it is something that we crafters have to make as is all other occasions.

A colleague of mine recently lost one of her peers and remembered that his wife was a paper crafter. She figured that his wife would appreciate the thought of a handmade card and called me up to make a special card with a poem included on the inside. I felt so privileged that she remembered.

I didn't have too much time and I think that you always want to keep these cards simple with neutral colours. The completed card size was 8.5 x 5.5 as my colleague had requested that she wanted a larger sized card and enough writing room!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in a moment to remember the people whom have passed.

Supplies:
Stamps - (Cornish Heritage Farms)

Ink - Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede (Stampin Up)
