RTB Challenge #28 - Feeling Yucky? (MTSC84)

Are you feeling yucky? LOL You can't be because you're on Yummy Creations!!!

Ohhh the cheese! ;) Happy Friday, friends. I can't even begin to tell you how thrilled I am for this weekend. I will be going to Cirque du Soleil's Kooza in Vancouver tomorrow!!! We bought tickets awhile ago and I've been waiting for this day to come! Cirque comes every 2 years to Vancouver and since I've never been to Vegas to see one of those shows - every second summer is such a treat.

The challenge over at Raise the Bar this week is a Sticky Situation - use a sticker(s) on your project. I purchased the stamp set "Feel Better" as well as the sticker sheet from Crafty Secrets a long time ago - but this is the first time I've inked up the set as well as peel the stickers. Hope you'll play along with us this week.

My layout uses Mercy's Sketch #84 this week as seen here:

My New Goodies and Grand Prize Winner

G'day!! I hope that everyone had a fantastic, sunny weekend!

If you were doing something relaxing such as hanging out on the beach or camping, I so would have traded places with you! lol I had a bunch of errands to run on Saturday and then in the evening, the Beau and I had a Chinese traditional 10 course meal to attend (You should go Google it). The next day, I was selling some of my used items at Cherish the Thought's Flea Market (LSS) and had to meet some friends for lunch. I know this probably doesn't sound so bad, but when I am barely home - no housework gets done and this throws the neat freak balance totally off! Oh well, life's short and there's always cleaning to be done right? Better enjoy it! :P

I thought I'd share some of my new goodies that I recently received in the mail. Sparkle opened up her own company this past month, Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, and she was giving away some of her newest releases. I was randomly picked to win her grand prize and received ALL of her new releases!!! Can I yell BINGO?!!!! I'm still in the process of mounting them. They are delicious - deeply etched, thick rubber! Thicker than any other I've seen before so you can keep them as bare rubber.

Second up - I recently made a large purchase from Die Cuts R Us. I couldn't help it though, the store owner, Claudia, had Quickutz dies at 75% off and she had a clearance before CHA sale. That's totally justified right? *grin* Look at these new goodies - I can't wait to use up the Tim Holtz/Sizzix embossing folders and that Max & Whiskers line from Basic Grey is too adorable!

Thanks so much for stopping by and reading my ramblings. Hugs!

I Woof You ATCs

*Sidenote: I just typed up this entire post and I accidently selected all and erased... Grr!!! lol*
G'day, friends!

Hope your week is going smoothly. I've been suffering through my allergies and unfortunately they're year round and just heightened during the summer. It's ok though, I manage to get through and enjoy the pretty blooms.

I've been a busy girl, participating in ATC swaps over at the Stamp Shack. The ATC swap I'm showing today was called "Going to the Dogs." This lil' pup is so adorable and I'm happy that I was finally inking him up! Everyone needs a fur friend to tell them that they woof you. ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Supplies:
Stamps - dog (Stampin Up), sentiment (Studio G), mini paw (Pink Cat Studio)
Paper, Ink - Stampin Up

Happy Friday!!!

Oh my goodness; what a week it's been! I really can't believe how fast this week has flown by. I was exasperated when I realized it was mid-month already! Ack. My summer is zoomin and I feel that I haven't yet had a chance to play in the sun. :(
Regardless of my venting though, I gotta' tell you about the challenge this week over at Raise the Bar! LOL When summer is in full swing; there are weddings taking place everywhere. :) The Challenge for this week is "I Do - Something old, new, borrowed and blue."

This is how my card fits the theme:

New - lace ribbon from the fabric store
Borrowed - My roommate is away right now and I went through her sewing stash and um... "borrowed" these stick pins. Shhhh! lol

Published and Featured!

G'day, friends and I hope you're having a great Tuesday so far!

I'm really not one to toot my own horn, but the way I found out about my publication in the latest Stampington's Stamper's Sampler Catch Up issue was a funny one!

The Beau and I were in our local bookstore browsing through our magazines. We always have this routine; he stops by the men's magazines first and then moves on to the arts collection. I'll browse the cooking ones and then take my time in the crafts section. I happened to pick up an issue of the above magazine and was browsing through when I stumbled upon a card on p. 39. I thought to myself, "Hey! I have that stamp too... and the card looks really familiar; I wonder if it's in someone's gallery I've seen online?" Imagine my surprise/delight when I saw my own name below the card!!!

Well, let me tell you. I let out a gasp, booked it (ran like the wind) to find the Beau and yelled, "I GOT PUBLISHED!" Remember, we're in a quiet little bookstore ... oops!

It's strange how I never received the issue in the mail but I'm happy that I found it. I do remember sending in the card now, but I sent that in almost 2 years ago! It just goes to show you that you never know what publications are looking for and how long they'll hold on to your work. Don't be discouraged if you have sent some stuff in for publication and haven't heard back. At least you know from my experience that these things take time. ;)

My second "yippie!" is that Mercy chose my Canada card as one of her Magnificent Musings for the week. Thanks Mercy; what an honour!!! If you haven't played along yet, I really suggest you head on over to Mercy's blog. Each Tuesday she puts out a new sketch and you can interpret it exactly the way it is or moderate your project as you please.

Thanks for stopping by and reading about my happy ramblings! Hugs.

Red, White (and Blue) - Canadiana

Happy Friday and an early Happy July 4th to my friends down south!!

The Raise the Bar Challenge for this week calls for a Red, White and Blue theme. If you aren't from the States though, you can create a project using the colours of your flag/country. This of course gave me the perfect excuse to use one of the new Studio G Canada stamps that I found in the $1.50 section!

The layout that I used for my card is Mercy's Sketch Challenge 80 as seen below:

Now go on to check out the other Bartenders' projects for inspiration to create your own:

Happy Canada Day!

I just wanted to take some time to say Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians!!!

A colleague of mine was surprised that I "wasn't going to go out and celebrate" the day. That's not quite true, I left my day unplanned and so far I've been getting a lot of things done around the house. That doesn't mean that I won't go out sometime later (which I plan to do). I may not be as patriotic on THIS day, but I'm thankful for the country I live in each and every day.

Happy 143rd birthday, Canada! You've grown beautifully. :)

I hope you'll be stopping by tomorrow; I have a a VERY *wink* patriotic card to feature for the Raise the Bar Challenge of the week! See you then!
