Vicki Chrisman's Accucut Die

G'day friends!

I have a special project to share with you today. Back in early February, Vicki Chrisman advised that the first 10 people who responded to her thread would be the lucky recipient of a package in the mail. The package consisted of her newly designed Accucut Shadow Box (VC101CSJ) die cut and Crafty Secrets images. We were suppose to create the shadow box in any way we wanted!

Remember when I said that I was dabbling more in vintage and collage work? Here is one of my proud creations! I'm so glad that I was in Vicki's "10" - I love this shadow box!

I added tons of extra embellishments to make the shadow box extra special. I've listed them down below in the Supplies list. Thanks so much for stopping by and go check out Vicki's blog to see what the other 9 ladies have created with their shadow box.

Supplies added:
Paper - K and Company patterened paper, vintage sheet music
Ink - Ranger Ink, Versacolor
Accessories - Tattered Angels chipboard and Glimmer Mist, Prima Flowers, Bazzill brads, Martha Stewart punch, Prima flowers, brown satin ribbon, teal grosgrain ribbon, Recollections pearls, swirl clip

Here is my take on the sketch and the Paws images:

I love these little doggies so much! Please show your support to these animals. Have a great weekend.

Under the weather...

Happy Friday to you!!

I have been slowly recovering from this cold that started last week (remember my other post?) so I've only been going to work and then going home to sleep. No time and strength for being creative. :(

Check in with me tomorrow though, Whimsie Doodles has a surprise challenge for you!

Monday already? But I'm flipped over you!

I hope you had a great weekend and I can't believe it's Monday already! I haven't quite been able to kick this cold. As a matter of fact, I've had laryngitis for the past week and my voice has been squeaky as ever! lol I took it easy this weekend so I'm hoping that today will be a good day at work.

My card for today is just a fun one using a Whimsie Doodles image. This particular turtle image is retired, but if you bug Melyssa enough, she may bring Whimsie back! While I fell in love with this image back when it was introduced, I had not yet played with him at all - what a tragedy. I made this card using neutral colours so it could also be gender neutral. I think you can use this image as a thinking of you, thank you or just because.

The layout for this card was inspired from Mercy's sketch as seen below.

I hope you have a great week! Take care for now.

Supplies:
Stamps - Flipped Turtle by Whimsie Doodles
Paper - Stampin' Up cardstock and patterned paper
Accessories - Copic markers, brads (Creative Memories), blue buttons, embroidery thread, brown satin ribbon, paper piercer, scallop border punch (Stampin' Up), inverted corner punch (EK Success)

Whimsie Wednesday (Thursday! LOL)

Thanks for joining me on this Thursday.

Here's my belated Whimsie Wednesday post for you. I retook the photos, but of course living in rainy Vancouver, it was an overcast day. Thanks to my friend, Shal, for the PS help.

Our host this week is Nikki and she's challenged us to use glitter in our cards. I don't think the glitter really shows in these photos, but trust me - it's a blingin Easter! lol
I'm usually not a big Easter image person, but I am lovin' darling little Leah and her friend Koale! For the inside of the card, I decided I wanted to play off the image and use one of the sentiments from the rubber Easter Sentiments set.

This particular layout was pulled from a sketch that Claudia had featured in the latest Magnolia Ink Fairytales magazine.

If I don't make it back on before the weekend, have a good one! Hope you get to do whatever it is that you've been wanting to do for the last little while - whether it's going for a long walk, getting some errands done or cleaning house - enjoy!

Supplies:
Stamps - Leah Bunny, Easter Sentiments (Whimsie Doodles)
Ink - Dark Brown, Creamy Brown (Colorbox),
Paper - For Peep's Sake (Imaginsce), Bazzill and DCWV cardstock
Accessories - Copic markers, Kaiser pink pearls, Prima flowers, Stickles glitter glue, Making Memories brads, Tattered Angel's Glimmer Mist, paper piercer, EK Success and Martha Stewart punches, Quickutz vine die cut, Stampin Up's Top Note die cut

Delayed: Whimsie Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!

My Whimsie Wednesday post is going to be delayed until tomorrow - I tried to edit the photos last night, but it turns out that the photos weren't of great quality. I must have missed the lighting or something! I wasn't going to show you anything that wasn't up to par. You can still play along though and get a head start on things today! Head on over to the PCP page for further details.

In the meantime, check out my Olympics photos from yesterday and pop in tomorrow! Enjoy the rest of your day.

Whimsie Doodles New Releases - MTSC63

Hello friends! First of all, I am so sorry for leaving this blog this long.

The Olympics really took over my life and being a patriotic Canadian, I had to be true to my white, red.... and GOLD!!! 14 of them actually! Had to brag a little... lol For those of you who watched the Closing Ceremonies, please realize that Canada isn't all about giant beavers and moose, hokey dancing mounties and lumberjacks... we were playing off our stereotypes. I really did have to shake my head at some of those things but at the end of the day, we are Canadian eh! ;)

Hehehe so who all came here to see the newest releases from Whimsie Doodles?!

My card above shows off the How Sweet rubber stamp set and it's perfect for thank you, summer and cheer cards. I added lots of shimmer and sparkle to this card, but the photo does no justice! You can see the rest of the stamps in this set as well as all the other images that were released today below. Make sure you stop by the Whimsie Doodles blog and comment to enter to win the images!

The layout I used is
Mercy's Sketch #63 also seen below.
