Retail Therapy

Heh, how fitting. This is precisely what I will be doing tomorrow! Looking forward to meeting you Kelly! Get online tonight so we can make tentative plans?

This is one of the Bella stamps I picked up while visiting the lover. I know you hear this from me all the time, but I really love this one! lol That is so me with a big grin on my face and lover behind me, but with a not so big smile on his face. Nah, he is normally really good at going shopping with for me. I'm happy = he's happy.

Supplies: Retailfellabella + sentiment from Stamping Bella, {iggy Tales pp, Bazzill cs, Bazzill Wings + Prima flowers, unknown brad, Prismacolor Pencils with odourless mineral spirits.

Monkeying Around

I realized how clippy and short I sounded in my last post and that has nothing to do with how I felt, but rather I wanted to squeeze in a post before I left for work yesterday. Apologies if I sounded teeny bit rude.

Ahhhh... the fusion of Piggy Tales pp and Great Impressions monkeys = love. I know my friend Pam has this love of mice from Great Impressions and I feel no less about the monkey stamps they offer. So cute!!! This is still not a recent project - my muse, mojo, whatever you happen to call it, is still on hiatus. *sigh*

Supplies: Bazzill cs, Stampin Up's Cool Carribean cs, Piggy Tales pp, Great Impressions stamp, sentiment stamp from TAC, Doodle Bug brads, Prismacolor pencils blended with odourless mineral spirits.

Am I a trend wh*re?

I'm a weakling.

I've seen the marketing done on these and now I want badly. The question I need to figure out is if I like these because I will use them and incorporate them into my papercrafting, or whether because it's the hottest thing right now and the repetition that "everyone must have?"

If I do want them, should I wait until later... or do I get instant gratification and pre-order now. Hmmm.

Thoughts, opinions, comments or concerns?

I have a busy weekend ahead of me, not sure how much I will be on. Oh, I will be heading down south of the border on Sunday to do some shopping. I plan on meeting up with Kelly.

Beach Pt. II - Jellyfish

Grab your towels and let's go to the beach! Hah, did you know I cant even swim? Yep, the bf and I both cannot swim and we've joked to save money, one of us will just learn how to swim and can save the other if the day ever comes. LOL. I can tread water and paddle, but I definitely prefer staying out of the water - never been a high risk person.

Made this card a couple weeks ago - no - the mojo has not yet returned. I'm actually still at work, hehehe. I wanted to make this card a little "softer" than the previous crab one. Softer using lighter colours lol, I'm not sure if I can actually do "soft and romantic like." Still enjoying the Cool Caribbean, but need to calm down on using so much or else I will run out before I know it! Oh noes...

Supplies: Cool Caribbean and Bazzill cs, Cuttlebug D'vine embossing folder, Fishy Friends + Stampin Around wheel from Stampin Up, Michael's dots and dashes ribbon, Making Memories brads, Cool Caribbean and Tsukineko inks.

I finally got it figured out...

Remember a couple posts ago, I mentioned that I had sort of lost my creative mojo? Well, I figured out what was causing this little hiatus. I made a goal for myself stating that I would use my new (now old) line of Basic Grey papers. With a $50 GC to Remember Me that I had won back in February, I bought a bunch of paper in the Blush, Phoebe, Perhaps, etc. lines. As gorgeous as the papers might be, I am having such a hard time using them with any of the current stamp images or other embellishments that I have. I'm so used to having defined lines and working with cutesy things, that I cant seem to think outside of my box. I'm stuck. Help! Looks like I'm just going to have to try a little harder again tonight and see if I can come up with anything.

Alrighty, so the next business on the agenda is that my new daylight lamp might help me get back to it! I just picked up a cheapy version of something similar to an OTT-LITE and I looooooveeeee it. As a night time crafter, I need something to keep me going during the wee hours. This type of lighting is fanshmastic on my eyes. I joked to my bf that if I had this light during my school years, I would have gotten super-duper grades. You know what his response was? .............. *snort... laugh* "Yeah right!" Pftt, the nerve.

Beach Pt. I - Crabby Birthday

This card has been sitting here for awhile now. I think I made this right after I returned from Ontario. I finally got in the summer mood and decided to make something beach-ish. I was wanting this crab from Quickutz for awhile except he was always sold out at PE. But I finally got him, mwhahahaha. I trimmed all the different layers, stamped the sentiment on the cardstock, then ran the layer through the Cuttlebug. Then ran the Stampin around wheel across the brown layer, chalked the background behind the crab to give it a more defined "sand" and "sky" look. Dotted some more sand around the crab...And finally used Glue Dots to adhere the googly eyes.

Supply list: Stampin Up cs, Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl embossing folder, Michaels $1 sentiment stamp, Stampin Up Sand Stampin Around wheel, Quickutz crab, Marvy Uchida giga oval punch, Memories ink.

Status of Pa

Thank you for all your well wishes and kind words of support.

It seems that by the time the news gets to me, it has been passed on from the Dr. to my dad, dad to mom, and then mom to me over the phone, so the story has changed or the details get shortened. But as far as I know, he had surgery on Saturday to remove the rest of the fluid out of his lung. He still has the chest tube inserted into his lung, to continue to suck out any fluid that remains or in case it comes back (Im assuming). I am pretty sure that he is doing fine, its just the fact that he cannot get out of bed that is probably bothering him the most. Oh, and he doesnt like the hospital food, lol.

I personally still do not know the cause of of fluid build up in his lung. Not sure whether that is something he is keeping from my mom and I (due to his stubborness), or that the dr's still do not know. But he is in much less pain and the fluid is gone! That is a big relief. I will keep you updated.

A Froggy Birthday

You know when there is something unsettling in your life and you know exactly what it is, yet you don't want to think about it. It lingers in the back of your mind, taunting you, teasing you. It rears its uglyness and pesters you often. You try to go on with your day, yet it is there - reminding you that no matter what you do to try to keep your mind off it, the problem will not go away. *sigh* I feel a little better typing that much out, but at this moment, I'm still not comfortable with sharing my entire thoughts. I've never been one to dish out my problems and situations to others, just sort of deal with them on my own. I've always been the listener.

Anyway! I made this card for the bf's birthday (July 20th). It was the first birthday I got to actually spend with him after 3 years of dating. The original idea was from Jo, an instructor at Photo Express. I loved the original card so much, I knew I was going to CASE it from the first time I saw it. The original was made using the QK turtle, but I wanted to use the frog instead. Ahem, and I also don't own the turtle yet.

Ran the green cs through my Cuttlebug using the Spots and Dots folder. Lots of matte layers as you can see... Die cut the frogs and attached them using the amazing quickie glue pen. <3>

Supplies: QuicKutz frog, surfboard, and metro alphabet dies, Cuttlebug Spots and Dots embossing folder, Bazzill cs, Stampin Up heart from Monkey Business, Pebbles Inc chalk, white gel pen

Graduation, life and gasp... a card!

Oh me, oh my, I finally did it!!! The grad ceremony, for a lack of better words, was rather crappy. It was raining just moments before I started my the walk, but luckily the rain stopped during the actual ceremony. I was so relieved because we (graduates, professors, family and friends) had to sit outside for about 2 hours through long speeches and approximately 500+ graduates. I am so thankful that both my parents could attend as well as the bf and a couple of friends.

While I have been MIA from the online community, I have been super busy with real life matters. I find that my weekends are absolutely precious and so many errands need to be done. If it is not errands, it is visiting this friend, or that friend. So on it goes... I was away for a week between July 18-23 to visit the bf in Ontario. I was able to stop by Cherished Scrapbooks and picked up a few Bella stamps as well as a really neat set of Hero Arts sentiments. I have been wanting those particular stamps for awhile. I also picked up $40 worth of crafting supplies at a Dollarama. Now when you think about paper crafting supplies, $40 doesn't sound like much, but its a LOT when you spent it at a freaking dollar store! lol. Needless to say, I got a lot of neat embellishments. *insert big grin here* I am heading up to my parent's place this long weekend (in Canada). They do not have internets, so I will definitely not be around... does that matter, I was MIA for a whole 2 months! lol I am going to try and play catch up as much as I can before though. Expect major spamming in the next little while.

Lastly, I did get to work on a few things here and there. I have taken photos of all my new cards and projects and will be posting them gradually over the next little while. Don't want to give you toooo much Thanh, need to space it out a little. Here's a grad card I made for one my gf's. She is not one for tradition, so I tried to make her the most obnoxiously bright card I could come up with.
The layout is from the June Page Maps. Love this site, they do all the hard thinking work for me. ;) Simple card, for a simple girl like me... (or that's what I keep telling myself).

Supplies Used:
Limited Edition Quickutz Stars, CTMH Atomic Number stamp, Doodlebug paper, Bazzill cs, SU paper piercer, Black SU ink, Stickles glitter glue
